Beautiful printer, but the spool situation needs to be … Beautiful printer, but the spool situation needs to be fixed. I’ve gotten three now at $30 a piece that tangle repeatedly. I think I’ve cleared it, and it finds another further down the spool. All you can do is complain to amazon and ship the thing back to sindoh for replacement, which I just said “screw it” to, because 1) I buy the spools in advance of using them to ensure I don’t run out and by the time I unwrap it and it does it, it’s past the return period. 2) The replacement time for getting a replacement is 3 weeks, when I could just throw down another $30 and continue printing in less than 3 days. Now I just unravel about the length I think i’ll need to use CAREFULLY so it doesn’t break, and only print small jobs with the binding rolls. When it does break though, and you have to chuck 10% of the roll, because it broke while trying to unravel it, You’re stuck with a chip that has no real idea of how much is left on the spool. It’s maddening, really.

Worth every penny and then some I turned right around and bought 5 more of these in various colors, so I think that speaks well of the product. I have had the printer just around a month and have been printing nearly non-stop (literally non-stop…some of my print jobs are running roughly 16-20 hours each with 2-3 jobs queued behind them) and the printer has been great. A word of warning to those of you who are like me and are uncertain about the differences between ABS and PLA. Yes, there are major differences. And no, I’m not going to go into the technical differences like temperature differences and such. I boil it all down to this:I use PLA because I print out a lot of RPG game tiles, terrain, and miniatures and such. PLA works great for me because it is easy to use and is fairly durable and easy enough to paint when all is said and done. And I find it easier to work with when doing these sorts of jobs. Why or when do I use ABS?I use ABS when I am making parts or larger terrain like…

It’s wrapped under to keep the PLA in place I had problems with it at first then realized they wrap the beginning of it under other PLA plastic to keep it from unwinding. You have to do the initial removing of it first from underneath the other plastic. I think this might be why people are getting so many problems with this PLA plastic in the first place. Mine works great and has done so when I figured out they wrap it underneath to keep the beginning PLA plastic in place most likely for shipping where it might move and unspool itself. Not doing the initial unwinding might be why people are getting problems. I was hesitant at first about this product due to the reviews, but it works great for myself. Just had to do the initial unwinding of it which might of been like 5 feet to get it all setup and ready to use.
