Sizeable Print Bed The main shortcoming of this printer is that it forces you to use the cartridges, and without a refreshed chip, it is hard to convince the printer to continue with a print (it will insist you have no filament). But the quality is pretty good, and the bed size is bigger than a previous printer I had. The advantage of the cartridge is that it auto-loads. It is also nice that the print chamber is closed — if you have a cat, it would insist on trying to play with the printed item as the bed moved (as was true with my previous printer). Another issue I have is limited variety and availability of filaments. I would like to print “transparent”, but can’t find that filament. And I just did a search for the gray, and it is out of stock (on Amazon).Update: I had to reduce the number of stars since the availability and variety of filament is so limited. What good is a 3D printer if you can’t get simple “gray” filament?

Awesome but one glitch. This printer is awesome. I’ve never used a 3d printer before and I had it up and running in 30 mins. Super easy to set-up. Already printed 4 items throughout the day which brings me to the one issue I’m having. When the item is finished and it’s time to remove it from the tray this is were things get tricky. It’s stuck to the tray big time (yes Stanley does provide the scraping tool) but because of the 2 plastic lock clip attached to the tray you’re stuck scrapping from one angle since it won’t lay completely flat on a table (when you remove the tray) which can be dangerous for your hands if you decide to move around with the scraper. So its beyond difficult to detach and I actually already broke the 2 lock clips (btw they also provide a extra set which now I understand why). Other than that, the printer is Awesome and I totally recommend it for beginners looking to spend a bit of money on a high quality printer that won’t give you headache trying to set up. Now I’ll have to look…
